Soccer Game #4, May 1st

That's Stephanie by the (other team's) Coach.
She loves to run around - just doesn't like
fighting the crowd for the ball.
(Her mother shouldn't have taught her to share!)
It's mostly about the snacks now anyway.

There she is throwing the ball in.
Sorry for the long-distance photos - I was sitting in the bleachers in the "end zone."

Hoarding Update

She is now up to 10 bottles.

And has started on bags and balloons.
Maybe she's only collecting things that start with the Letter B?

Stephanie vs Jalapeno

Daddy to Meredith: "I'll give you a quarter if you eat this jalapeno. You have to chew it up and then swallow it."

(Meredith declined.)

Stephanie: "I want a quarter!"

Daddy: "OK. But you have to chew up this jalapeno and then swallow it."

The child grabbed the jalapeno, chewed it up, and swallowed it without any indication that it was hot or otherwise untasty.

Daddy: "Stephanie, you are AWESOME!"

Second Soccer Game 4-17

Steffi's second game was on Saturday. We had to get there half an hour early for pictures. I left Philip with Hayden and just took the girls.

On the way there the girls were discussing the jungle gym at the park for kids to play on. Monday at Meredith's game, Stephanie made friends there with a little boy named J. So Meredith was teasing her saying, "I'm going to play with J today."

S said, "You'd better not."

M asked, "Why not?"

S said, "Because he's MY boyfriend."

Their teenage years could be really interesting.

Since the girls are in Micro Soccer, they have 1/2 hour of practice first. Then they play a 1/2 hour game. Saves on driving time and scheduling for me! And the girls really have fun.

The other bonus: at bedtime on soccer nights I don't hear a peep out of them!

{Stephanie did get to play with J at Meredith's game on Monday!}

First Soccer Game 4-10

A certain little somebody has been waiting for this day for sooooo long!

Now it's finally her chance to get out on the field and show what she can do.

She listened very well to the coach. She really wanted to get in there and play and do it right.

She did such a good job. She was very focused and determined.

And she had so much fun!

And now she can't wait for her second game!

Big sister got to cheer on the little girl. Nice cowboy hat, huh?

The Lil Dude was kind of perturbed that he wasn't out on the field though.

More to Come. . .

I've got lots of pictures and other stuff to tell you about. But it won't be today. Tune in tomorrow (or the next day), same bat time, same bat channel.

Danger!!!

{Photo added - picture taken Sunday}

Last night, my darling, well-behaved angels who never do anything they've been warned not to do. . .

First, they (meaning Stephanie and Philip) got into the window sill. We have deep-set windows in the living room and it looks like a window seat but we've very suspicious about how sturdy those windows are so we don't allow the kids to get up there. We're afraid if they lean on the windows, they (kids and windows) will crash out and fall 20+ feet to the solid concrete below. I'd love to get bars put on the outside but it's not in the budget. I did have little gates screwed into the front to keep the kids from getting up there but the children managed to disassemble them and I haven't figured out what I was going to do about that yet.

Then, they unwound the cords for the blinds. I put up hooks and wound the cords around that because the cords are long and I didn't want the children to get hung up in them.

And, yes, after climbing into the windows and unwrapping the cords, Stephanie managed to get one of the cords wrapped around her neck and now has a nice red mark to show for her efforts. Luckily, she's okay.

Just in time for soccer practice.

I forsee a trip to Home Depot in my very near future to get more "fences" on those windows.
