The Clothes Horse

Annette sent me a box! I love getting boxes from Annette ~ THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!

Anyway, inside the box was a bunch of girl clothes. Stephanie thought she won the lottery! "Ooooh, I want that shirt and that skirt and that. . . " I tried to remind her that her sister should probably get a few of the new clothes also since they were actually Meredith's size. "Oh. OK. She can have that one. But this one is mine!"

So here she is. . . wearing her new skirt and her old flamingo shirt.

Apparently she put the shirt on backwards because she didn't think the flamingo went well with the flowers in the skirt. I wonder if her teacher noticed. I didn't - until after I picked her up from school.

I love this girl! She certainly has a style all her own!

Help! Need New Pants!

We went thru 3 pairs of pants today to find some that fit. And these are still tight. I guess I'm going to have to start buying bigger sizes and hemming them up or something.

Put Your Shoes Away!

Steffi was sitting by my on the couch. She kicked off her shoes onto the floor.

I told her to put them away.

She moved them into the middle of the floor. (Her Daddy is a bad influence.)

I told her to put them away.

So she did. Or so I thought.

Later I walked past her bedroom door and the shoes were sitting right outside the door.

I told her to put them away.

Then I watched her while she put them in the closet.

Fashion Show

I should really do a photo series of what Stephanie wears to school every day.

The other day she wore a black and white striped long-sleeved shirt with blue pants and a yellow and black dress over that.

New Suit

Stephanie outgrew the swimsuit I bought her last year even though I bought it big hoping she would still fit in it this year.

So I found her a new one at 'Once Upon a Child.'

It's not pink.

Butt (haha), it does have flamingoes on it.

Steffi's Favorite Outfit

She likes the 'layered' look.

That is a pair of flower capris in red, white, and blue.
Her "Fourth of July" skirt, also red, white, and blue but with stripes and flags.
A purple (already layered) shirt - purple and white stripes with an all-purple shirt 'over' it.
And a short-sleeved flowered shirt (to tie in with the flowers on the capris.)

So, it really does go all together!

I'm calling that pose her "Tyra" pose.

Staying Warm

Stephanie advised me this fall that she HATES her green jacket. She even tried to trade Meredith for her purple jacket.

John & I went out for Black Friday this year. One of the items Walmart had for sale was their 4-in-1 jackets for $15 (all sizes - even adults! I've tried on the women's version before and the problem is: when I have both jackets on - the sleeves are too tight and it makes me feel like I'm trapped.)
I thought about getting all the kids one since Hayden's and Meredith's jackets have already been in use for 3 years each and are getting very worn and torn up.
But they only had a limited selection of sizes in girls so we just got Stephanie one.

Sorry for the uncombed hair and the pajamas.

That's her 'posing' face, apparently. She was trying to stick her bottom lip out but she kept giggling.

Trust me - she likes it. She giggled and thanked me for it over and over when I first gave it to her. And then wore it inside the house for about 45 minutes until she was finally too hot.

The inside is pink fleece and very soft - it's also reversable and can be worn separately from the outer layer. The outside is brown but has enough pink on it to satisfy her.

Flamingo

I got the Spring/Summer clothes out last week. As soon as Stephanie saw this shirt, she got really excited. "Is that a flamingo? Is that MY shirt? Can I wear that shirt right now?"

I'll be on the lookout for a stuffed flamingo this summer. Her birthday is in September - hopefully, I can find one by then. I wonder if WebKinz has them?

When I was walking around downtown, I saw a HUGE stuffed flamingo in a tattoo shop. It had to sit down - it was too tall to even stand up in the shop. For the record, I do not want a giant flamingo. I want one she can carry around. But it was awesome anyway!

New Name for Blog

Yes, I have changed the name of Stephanie's blog again. While "It's All About Me!" definitely describes her outlook on life. "Not Yet a Diva" describes her personality.

Honestly, I didn't know how easy-going the older two were until Stephanie came along. Don't get me wrong, she was a happy, easy-going baby. Then she learned to talk. And when she wants something, she wants it. She doesn't distract easily once she sets her mind to something.

If she wants a cookie in the morning, she doesn't ask, she just grabs it. Unfortunately, she's not very sneaky and I caught her and took it away. Then she started crying and screaming. And she tells me, "You make me sad." (I swear it was all I could do to not eat that cookie in front of her.)

If she wants Philip to play with her, then he WILL play with her even if she has to sit on top of him. That time it was Daddy who made her sad. "Daddy yell at me."

If you're in the middle of doing something important and she wants to sit with you and you'd rather she not at that particular moment. Just move over because she's climbing up anyway.

Don't try to have a conversation without her. She insists on talking over any and everyone. (We're working on stopping that particular trait but it's rough going.)

And, my personal unfavorite simply because mornings are not my time of day and they're already hectic enough. ...I could just throw some clothes at Hayden and Meredith and tell them to get dressed and they're fine with it. Hayden doesn't really care about what he wears (except for that one pair of shorts which I finally got rid of - "I can't wear green shorts to school!") and Meredith likes all of her clothes. But Stephanie... It doesn't matter what I pick out for her, she doesn't want to wear that! I always pick out the wrong shirt and the wrong pants, usually I even get the underwear wrong. But I have to pick out something because she wants me to get her clothes out for her. But they're never good enough for her. So then I have to advise her to put those clothes away and get whatever she wants to wear.

And you know it's just going to get worse...

But if she starts demanding M&Ms with all the green ones picked out, I'm sending her to boarding school!
