More DoodleBops

This is how we carry the DoodleBops around. Good thing they have hooks! We also have 3 CareBears with hooks so they hook onto the DoodleBops which hook on to Stephanie so she has them with her everywhere she goes. She even takes naps this way.

Stephanie just asked me why she doesn't have any homework in her backpack. I was required to find her some homework and put it in there. I found a piece of paper, wrote her name on it, and advised her to practice her letters. Now she is happy.

We're watching Dora today. Just yesterday Stephanie decided she likes Dora again. I guess this is going to go in phases.

Oh, that outfit she is wearing used to be Meredith's. I got it out for Stephanie and she says, "Ooohhhh! Is that mine now? With the Princesses on it? Meredith doesn't fit it anymore?"

Naptime Breath

I laid down with Stephanie the other day to take a nap.

After a little while she told me, "Mommy! Your breathe is getting in my nose!"

So I moved my head so I wouldn't be breathing on her.

Then she says, "Just turn around the other way so your breathe doesn't get in my nose."

So I turned around and she was asleep in seconds. But I was still slightly offended.

I do love how she says breathe instead of breath though.

Ready for School

S: (after rooting around in the toys) "Look, Mommy, I have a backpack."

Mommy: "Yes, it's very nice."

S: "Can I go to school now?"

Mommy: (frozen in place & unsure how to respond because she knows what's coming.)

S: "Mommy. Can I go to school now? Please."

Mommy: "Sweetie, you're not old enough to go to school yet. You have to be 5."

S: "I'm 5!"

Mommy: "Can you just pretend to go to school."

S: "I want to go to SCHOOL."

--------
It's gonna be a long year and a half, folks. She is going to have a complete fit this August when the older kids go back to school and, once again, she has to stay home. I'm hoping we can afford to put her in pre-school by then. If not, I did find a really cool place on-line to buy pre-school supplies. This is the link for The Learning Box Preschool. They even have a schedule for you so you know what to teach them for the week. I think it's like $40 a month which would be a lot cheaper than pre-school! Of course, that would mean I would have to home-school her. I'm really not sure I'm cut out for that!

Looking Ahead

"Mommy, I want to have earrings." (said after having noticed mine.)

"Maybe when you're a little older."

(said with eyes wide) "When I'm older, when I'm a big girl, I will have earrings. I will have pink earrings."

Naptime

One of my favorite things about Stephanie...

Sometimes when I lay down with her for her nap, she will grap hold of my shirt with one hand.

She does it so she can feel close to me and know I am right there beside her.

She does this because she knows I will get up when she falls asleep and she wants me to stay with her.

It is so darn cute. And sweet. I really love it when she does that.

-----------------------

So - is it wrong for me to also like it because when her little hand falls to the bed, then I know for sure that she is sound asleep and I can sneak away without a fuss?

And I quote...

I believe this should be Stephanie's quote:
"My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it." — Mark Twain

Every time she burps, she says "A-burp me."

I tell her she's supposed to say "Excuse me."

She just looks at me like I'm an idiot and says "A-burp me" again.

Monsters

There is a monster living in our bathroom.

Seriously.

That is why my clever, independent little girl needs me to accompany her to the bathroom every stinkin' time she needs to go.

A monster lives in the bathroom.

Sometimes he visits the kitchen.

I haven't seen him although, apparently, today he was right in front of my face.

Today he was in the toilet. So she peed on him. She thought that was hilarious.

She's a little odd is what I think.
